A revised and enlarged version of the stage show Land of Plenty is presently being performed for pre-arranged gala shows. It will form the core of the Treaty Grounds’ evening entertainment programme in the coming summer.

During winter, the show has been developed with additional scripting and new lighting options, says Treaty Grounds CEO Jeanette Richardson.  “Last year’s evening attendances encouraged us to put more resources into the performances, and this summer we are also packaging them with twilight and late dinner options at the award-winning Waikokopu Café in the Treaty Grounds and at the Copthorne Hotel, also on the Waitangi estate.  These will be popular combinations, answering the demand for early or late evenings out, at a reasonable price, including dinner in our fantastic coastal and forest setting.”

Captain James Cook, colonial figure Agnes Busby, and members of the fighting forces of the Second World War are brought to the stage in the shows which look at the history of New Zealand from earliest times to the current day.

The show will commence its regular evening run 7 days a week in October when the Waitangi Treaty Grounds extends its opening hours.  Meantime, says Jeanette Richardson, special shows can be arranged for groups.
