Meet Our Guides

Ngati Kawa Taituha

Ngati Kawa Taituha (Ngapuhi) Guiding Coordinator

Haere mai, welcome. Meet our team of professional guides, many of them direct descendants of the chiefs who signed our nation’s founding document. We are from Te pitowhenua, the birthplace, and we have a passion for our heritage, culture and history. We are excited to share this with you when you join our tours and education groups.

Passionate about culture and heritage, Ngati Kawa was born in the Bay of Islands and grew up at Waitangi. “One of my ancestors, Te Kemara, was here at the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.” He can speak the Maori language and is proud of being local.

Sharee Tito (Ngapuhi)

I live at Waitangi on my grandmother's turangawaewae, and am affiliated with Ngati Rahiri and Ngati Hau hapu from the Waitangi region. I am very passionate about the Treaty of Waitangi and handing on our ancestors knowledge and traditions to our younger generations.
