The summer season runs from 15 October 2011 to 31 March 2012. We are open from 9am to 7pm every day, in all weather! The only day we close is 25 December.

Embrace Waitangi: Introducing the Birthplace of our Nation. Walk in the footsteps of our ancestors. Learn the significance of the ceremonial waka, the flagstaff, the carved Maori Meeting House (Te Whare Runanga) and the Treaty House.

Carvings Tour: Gain an insight into the significance of some of New Zealand's most outstanding and deeply symbolic carvings that have been gifted to the treaty Grounds. Discover the mythology, genealogy and spirituality engraved into these carvings.

Maori Cultural Performance (30 mins): Experience the excitement of the haka and the distinctive song and dance of northern Maori tribes.

Twilight Show (45 mins): Tracing the shared history of Maori and European that became the foundation of our nation's heritage. Expressed as a live drama with story, song and dance. A buffet dinner can also be included.

Living with Nature: Explore our natural environment. Learn about our native plants and trees and their relationship to Maori legend, survival and tradition.

Fun with Flax:
A fun workshop teaching the traditions, history and uses of our native flax plant. Weave your own gift.

Treaty House Treasures: Explore one of New Zealand’s oldest and most visited historic homes and learn about the treasures within.

The Nation’s Garden: Enjoy a tour of the Treaty Grounds Gardens of National Significance surrounding the first British residency.

An audio-visual presentation runs regularly from 9am to 4pm daily.
